Stand-out performances from junior Cole Parker and sophomore Logan Sullivan in the first half set the tone for the Cardinals’ 50-34 defeat of Ottawa Friday night.
There was already electricity in the bleachers after the Lady Cardinals took their win against Ottawa in the previous game.
Much like the girls’ game, the boys held a consistent lead against Ottawa giving a strong performance in the first half.
Head coach Kyle Deterding believed the team’s strong opening was the key to their victory.
“We did all right. We beat them pretty well. In the first half we made some shots that made things look better than they are,” Deterding said.
Varsity captain Traeger Rader was happy with how the team played in both halves and is confident in next week’s game.
“I think we played really well. We had a great lead and we all played really hard on defense,” Rader said.
The boys’ will play at Baldwin High School next Friday.
