Nine wrestlers headed to state

The Cardinals wrestling teams are sending nine athletes to state.

Three girls qualified: Abby Fager, Clara Peterson and Addie Tharp. Six boys qualified: JJ Hardwick, Gabe Campbell, Hawken Andrews, Newt Schreiner, Elijah Clobes and Reilly Neis.

Hawken Andrews was the 138 regional champion at regionals Saturday.

The state tournament will be Feb. 27-28 at Tony’s Pizza Events Center in Salina. Day one begins at 8:45 a.m. with the opening ceremony, and day two starts at 9 a.m.
