The Lions Club is ready to throw eggs around the city again this year.
The organization is again hosting its Egg My Yard fundraiser to raise money for a scholarship fund for a high school senior. Last Easter, 19 yards participated.
Stephanie Ortega has already signed up to provide a fun activity for her two children this year.
“We like to help make holidays magical for our kids while supporting local,” she said.
She said her grandfather and a few uncles were all members of her hometown Lions Club chapter in the past.
Mary Ann Watts said she does it for her grandkids. Even though her grandchildren are older now with the youngest being 13, she enjoys what the Lions Club does and stands for.
“We have a big family gathering every year, and it is great to see the community involvement,” she said.
The candies in the eggs are intended to be as allergen friendly as possible. Lions Club secretary Eric Strimple said they try to choose Skittles or Twizzlers since they are safer choices.
The service is available only within city limits. Customers can sign up for two dozen, four dozen, six dozen or eight dozen eggs. Eggs will be sprinkled on lawns the evening of April 8, right before Easter.
Those interested should sign up here by Friday.
