After receiving about 10.6 inches of snow Sunday, crews in Eudora are still working to clear roads while still dealing with thick ice, Assistant City Manager Zack Daniel said Monday.
Daniel said all main routes are clear and most streets have at least one pass through. Sand and salt are still holding up in town, he said.
Street clearing is continuing today and will likely continue throughout the week due to the buildup, Daniel said.
The fire department has responded to a few routine medical calls, but no vehicle accidents or downed power lines, Daniel said Monday morning.
Daniel said there have been no reported electrical outages or water main breaks. He also thanks Douglas County for also assisting.
The city is still strongly recommending that people stay home if they can due to the thick layers of ice, Daniel said.
Honey Creek, Eudora’s trash service, announced Sunday that its usual Monday operations would be delayed by one day. It also said on Facebook that services to rural areas would depend on the amount of snow and ice received.
