Here are the staff members working for The Eudora Times this fall.
Cuyler Dunn is our sports editor. He will also cover City Commission meetings. He is a senior at KU and was born and raised in Lawrence. Cuyler has written for The Lawrence Times and other local news outlets, and has a passion for covering sports. He loves engaging with the Eudora community and talking with local coaches and athletes. When he’s not reporting, Cuyler loves music and is a member of the KU Chamber Choir.
Annalynn Phanthadeth is our chief photographer. Growing up in a small community, she is passionate about community journalism and its impact. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and spending quality time with her friends and family. She is pursuing a degree in journalism and mass communications with a minor in photography and sports management.
Bella Waters will report on city government, the schools and feature stories. She will also serve as city editor, helping to run the newsroom. She is a senior at the University of Kansas studying journalism and history. She has worked for the Kansas City Star, Lawrence Journal-World and University Daily Kansan. Originally from Michigan, Bella is excited to learn more about Eudora and get to know its residents. In her free time, she enjoys playing the piano, reading and watching KU sports.
Quinn Mozena is our advertising and events manager. She is a senior at the University of Kansas studying digital marketing communications and media arts & production, with a minor in business. Growing up in Overland Park, Quinn is passionate about being a Kansas native and supporting the communities that make the state unique. She’s especially drawn to advertising and enjoys the challenge of connecting people through creative communication.
Maya Smith will help with photography and design. She is a sophomore at KU and was born and raised in Lawrence. She is studying multimedia journalism with a minor in political science. She has worked for the Kansas Reflector as a freelance reporter. In her free time, she enjoys photography and spending time with friends.
Teri Finneman is the publisher and executive editor. She is a journalism professor at KU. She started her reporting career 20 years ago and has worked for newspapers and TV stations. She is also executive producer of the Journalism History podcast. She is a native of North Dakota. She is co-author of Reviving Rural News and the forthcoming book News Desert U, examining how universities around the country are trying to help save local news.
The Eudora Times is an award-winning online newspaper. This unique university-community partnership started in 2019 and involves University of Kansas William Allen White School of Journalism students serving as reporters to cover the community.
