The city manager’s proposed budget will be presented at Monday’s City Commission meeting.
Commissioners will review the capital improvement plans, parks and rec upgrades, utility infrastructure updates, and other revenues and expenditures for the 2026 budget as discussed at meetings throughout the summer. The commission will not yet take action on the budget, as that is planned for after the public hearing set for Sept. 8.
In other business, the commission will also review setting a public hearing for an application for a community development block grant to make renovations at Barbwire Barbecue. The application would be for $300,000 for the $388,000 project.
The commission will also review an update from Ben Terwilliger, executive director of the Eudora Area Historical Society.
The commission will also consider a deannexation of the Fairfield addition, as well as a plat nullification originally approved in 2006.
The commission will also have a special meeting Monday to discuss city branding prior to the regular meeting. At 6:30 p.m., City Clerk Kelly Delay will present her capstone project from the KU certified public manager program. The project is a review of city branding, uniformity of logos, social media and apparel. The presentation will review the project and its potential application.
