Future plans for the fire department and equipment will be discussed at a special Monday meeting of the City Commission.

The agenda says the commission will discuss apparatus management strategies for the department.

The meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall. The regular meeting will follow at 7 p.m.

The commission will discuss entering into a grant agreement for the Community Development Block Grant for Pilla Park. They will also consider a reinvestment housing incentive district resolution as well.

Staff will also provide comments and updates on the 2025 Great Kaw Adventure Race.

There will also be a review of the city’s 2024 fiscal year financial audit. Gordon CPA will provide an overview of the report.

The city will also hear a financial report provided from the Convention and Visitors Bureau and consider updates to the city and bureau memorandum of understanding.

The city will also receive a certificate of good citizenship from the Sons of the American Revolution.

Updates to the city’s open burn regulations are also planned to be discussed at the meeting.

Commissioners will also receive a presentation regarding the development of the 2026 city budget.
