The Chamber will wait until 2023 to look for a new executive director and has closed the briefly opened office on Main Street.
Chamber President Courtney Gebauer said the board is waiting to fill the vacant position and will spend the next year evaluating the Chamber’s budget following former executive director Karen Boyer leaving the director role in November.
“Since I’m the new president, I just figured I could help us save a little bit of money, and when I exit the Chamber board, we would probably end up hiring someone else,” Gebauer said.
The Chamber is no longer located at 715 Main St., and ended the lease at that building to save money. Gebauer said since there is no current executive director, there is no need to have a set location for the Chamber.
Gebauer has experience with working in the Chamber of Commerce, as she worked with the city of Olathe’s for about five years. She also owns Eudorable Home, a furniture and home decor shop in downtown Eudora.
