The Eudora Giving Garden is planning to host more workshops and activities for the community this upcoming spring and summer.
Mary Kirkendoll said workshop opportunities vary from spring baskets to pollination. Laura Smith, a volunteer and the head of marketing for the garden, said two of its cornerstones are education and service.
“All of our events are based off of education,” Smith said. “Everything we do we are also constantly learning, so we want to help spread that throughout the community.”
The garden aims to be as community- and connection-oriented as possible, with Smith describing the garden as a “sense of family.”
The Giving Garden does a lot more than host workshops. They also donate food they grow to the local Eudora Food Pantry. And to uplift spirits, they bring flowers to senior care facilities.
“The giving garden represents community, and our desire to give back to our community,” Dana Chance, a garden volunteer, said.
