Homecoming festivities begin this week at the high school featuring spirit days, athletic events and the parade.
The overall homecoming theme this year is “A Night in Paris.”

Here’s a rundown of the week’s events:
Monday
Monday’s spirit week theme is French flag, where students are encouraged to wear red, white and blue.
Boys soccer hosts Kansas City Christian at 6 p.m.
Tuesday
Tuesday’s spirit week theme is anything but a backpack, where students bring their supplies in random household items not typically used to haul books.
Volleyball takes on rival Baldwin at 6:30 p.m.
Tuesday is News Engagement Day, which encourages the public to actively engage with news and understand the principles of journalism. To celebrate, the Eudora Times is offering free popcorn from the concession stand for the first 20 people during the varsity volleyball game.
Wednesday
Wednesday has no spirit week theme because of early dismissal.
The homecoming parade is Wednesday evening beginning at 5:30. The parade will take the same route as previous years, beginning in the neighborhood around the recreation center and ending on Main Street. A community pep rally will follow the parade on Main Street.
Thursday
Thursday’s spirit week theme is fashion show.
Friday
There is no school Friday due to high school parent-teacher conferences.
The football team takes on Independence at 7 p.m. The homecoming king and queen crowning is at halftime of the game.
The homecoming dance will be in the high school commons, starting as soon as the game’s over and ending at 11 p.m.
Students are encouraged to wear their homecoming shirts to the football game and dance. Each student is eligible to receive a free homecoming T-shirt by attending a home event that week, or participating in theme days.
