Residents will have a chance to meet City Commission candidates and hear their viewpoints at an upcoming town hall.
The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1 in the Performing Arts Center at the high school. Those interested do not need to register to attend.
Chamber of Commerce President Meagan Cox said each candidate will have a two-minute introduction. Each candidate will then have 90 seconds to respond to questions asked by a moderator. After questions, candidates will make a one-minute closing statement.
After the forum, Cox said the candidates will be doing a meet-and-greet.
Last October, the Chamber of Commerce hosted a town hall for the Douglas County Commission election. Cox said the Chamber received positive feedback from both candidates and attendees, so it decided to do another town hall this year.
“It’s just opening that space up and allowing residents to get in there, educate themselves, hear what each candidate has to say and ask any questions that they might have afterwards as well,” Cox said.
The candidates for City Commission are John Cullen, Grant High, Jason Musick and Tim Reazin.
The Chamber said it will livestream the event from its Facebook page.
