The 44th annual Kansas State Fiddling and Picking Championship will be Aug 24. It will be a free family event with a concert at South Park in Lawrence.
It will run from noon to 5 p.m., with a performance by Tim O’Brien and Jan Fabricius at 3:30 p.m.
There will also be food vendors, artists and other family-friendly activities.
Championship contestants will play two tunes, a waltz and a tune of their choice. They will perform all day with awards at 5 p.m.
