Students will once again have the option for free breakfasts this coming school year after the School Board approved the program for a second year Monday night.
Superintendent Stu Moeckel said he supported continuing the program after its success this past school year. Moeckel also said the program can only exist if families take advantage of it.
The district saw a small profit from the breakfast program in the last year, he said. The board shared data about the program at its last meeting.
In other business, the Eudora Schools Foundation will once again provide free school supplies for families in need. They have a goal of collecting 200 backpacks, board member Kelley Woods said. More information about collecting donations can be found here.
The board also approved the employee benefit plan with Aetna. The plan includes about an 18% increase, which is significantly lower than the first estimate the district received of about 40%, Moeckel said.
The board also approved various resignations and hirings. Mallory Raugewitz-Blick resigned as the high school debate and forensics teacher. Matthew Hundley was hired to replace her.
