The City Commission met briefly Monday night to take action in order to move forward with a grant for renovations at Pilla Park.
The commission moved to add Mayor Tim Reazin’s signature to paperwork for the Community Development Block Grant the city received for Pilla Park. This change was per recommendation by the Kansas Department of Commerce, Interim City Manager Zack Daniel said.
The resolution just changed the authority to execute the agreements described in the grant from the city manager to the mayor, as per the state’s recommendation, Daniel said.
The city found out it was awarded the money in June. The grant will provide $650,000 with an additional $298,225 coming from the city’s ¾-cent Parks and Rec/capital improvement plan sales tax.
The commission also approved a resolution to take former City Manager Kevyn Gero off the list of authorized signers for bank services.
