A small fire at Sonic Monday has left the restaurant temporarily closed.
The fire left no damage, but requires an inspection by the health department to reopen, Assistant City Manager Zack Daniel said. The establishment also has to get its fire suppression equipment back in service, he said.
Manager Madison Hurtado said she received the call about the fire a little before noon. The fire department responded and has since left. They have also had someone come examine the grill to make sure it will not malfunction.
They are working on cleaning up the grill area as extinguishers were used. The health department will be coming after everything is cleaned up, she said. They expect to be open within the next few hours or at some point today (Monday), she said.
