The Parks and Rec master plan development process will be discussed at a City Commission work session prior to the regular meeting Monday night.
The work session at 5:30 p.m. will give commissioners the chance to learn how the plan came together and ask questions before the final document is ready to be adopted. It will not be approved at this meeting but will likely be ready for adoption May 12.
During the regular meeting at 7 p.m., the commission will discuss the performance agreement between the developer of Paschal’s Landing and the city.
After previous concerns about the crosswalks and other traffic safety measures, the agreement will relate to obligations of the city and of the developer on these measures as well as the sewer cost share.
Also during the regular meeting, the commission will consider the purchase of a John Deere mower for Public Works and the pre-approval for a police vehicle. The police vehicle was included in the budget, and the mower will come from the equipment reserve fund.
The commission will also consider the declaration of a number of proclamations:
Declaring April as Child Abuse Awareness Month
May 4-10 Public Service Recognition Week
May 4-10 Shop Local Week
May 1 National Day of Prayer
During staff comments, there will be discussion regarding the recreational burn permit regulations.
Both meetings will be Monday at City Hall.
