Fest
EudoraFest was back on Main Street this past weekend for the first time in years following rained-out events and COVID-19.
Booths featuring vendors, local businesses and organizations lined downtown on a perfect fall morning that brought out many Eudora residents.
Even out-of-towners like David Green from Iowa came to partake in the festivities.
“That’s the fun part: visiting with folks and just mingling and having a beautiful day,” he said.
The car show proved to be a crowd favorite with 17 cars participating. Rex Burkhardt, who organized the show, attributed the good weather to the event’s success.
“It’s been rained out three out of the last four years, and then the COVID got the fourth year, so it’s been really five years since we’ve had a good Eudora Fest because of the weather or COVID,” he said.
Furry friends were also welcome at EudoraFest, some even participating in the dog show.
Pennie von Achen, like many others, said the atmosphere and the food were her favorite part of the day.
“Well, it’s just fun to walk up and down the street and see all the different vendors and get the free samples,” she said.
The day also included live music, a tractor pull and a scavenger hunt.
