Eudora residents turned out to the polls Tuesday to cast their votes for the competitive City Commission and School Board races.
Local election officials said voting was steady but not overly busy throughout the day. Belinda Rehmer emphasized the importance of voting in local elections.
“These small elections, it’s your neighbors you’re voting for, next door to and whatever, so they really carry a bigger weight. Your vote carries a bigger percentage, I think,” she said.
Voters who came out said they wanted to have their voice heard. Bobby Arnold said he wanted to make sure the City Commission and School Board are going strong.
“We continue to see progress and we want to make sure that that continues and make sure that we’re doing right for the city,” Arnold said.
Roberta Lehmann echoed the idea of wanting her voice to be heard.
“I came out to vote because I feel like this is my civic duty, and it’s just very important that every vote counts,” she said.
