Residents can register to receive the vaccine at AuBurn Pharmacy in Eudora by filling out a form with their basic information.
AuBurn Pharmacy has stopped requesting first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine after administering roughly 500 doses so far.
Pharmacist Deana Alvarez said the pharmacy will focus for the time being on giving second doses, which are scheduled when residents receive their first dose at the pharmacy.
There is no definite date as of Wednesday for when AuBurn Pharmacy will receive first doses again, but Alvarez said it could start to receive them within the next two weeks.
Residents can sign up to receive the vaccine at AuBurn Pharmacy by filling out a form with their basic information. Appointments are contingent on vaccine supply and the pharmacy prioritizes by reaching out to people in order of when they signed up, Alvarez said.
“It’s amazing how quickly we can go through our list,” Alvarez said. “Most people put their name on a list at least four or five other places. We encourage that because we want everyone to get it. Whether it’s at AuBurn or anyone else, we want to make sure everyone’s vaccinated.”
Also Wednesday, Lawrence-Douglas County Public Health is coordinating another first dose vaccine clinic at the fairgrounds. Staff and volunteers expect to administer 3,500 vaccines.
