The eastbound Kill Creek Bridge, between exits for Kill Creek Road and Lexington Avenue, will close beginning July 17.
The eastbound traffic on K-10 will cross over to travel head to head on the westbound bridge, according to a news release from the city of De Soto. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in both directions.
The project is scheduled for completion in November with traffic modifications throughout.
In other city-related updates released Friday, the Eudora City Commission will consider declaring July 21 as Parks & Recreation Professionals Appreciation Day during its meeting Monday.
The city will also consider approving a resolution to authorize the offering for sale of general obligation bonds, according to the meeting agenda.
In 2021, the city executed two resolutions, which approved the master capital improvement plans and their financing, as well as the sale of general obligation temporary note Series 2021-A. The expiration of the two-year temporary note is approaching, and the city’s financial team has determined to refinance via a 2023-A general obligation bond, the agenda said.
The new resolution approves the multi-year master capital improvement plan established in 2021 to be extended and paid for by the 2023 bond. This bond will both pay for the refinancing of the temporary note, as well as three new projects listed below.
Additionally, this bond will pay for the increase in the cost of the new main lift station.
The budget estimates are as follows:
Construct New Main Lift Station (influent) $2,990,000
New UV System $410,000
Intech Park Project 1 $365,000
Intech Park Project 2 (HP Pelzer Loop & Transformer) $580,000
Total $4,345,000
