Community members will have the opportunity to meet with STEM education professionals, learn about working in the tech industry and explore technology at an event with NASA and Panasonic next week.
“A Space For All” STEM Fest will be an all-ages event for families and students to learn from experts about various fields in the Kansas City region and beyond.
The event is free and open to anyone from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 4 at Johnson County Community College Fieldhouse.
Participants will get to learn about a battery-powered EV racer created by area students. There will also be an immersive planetarium hosted by the Johnson County Parks and Recreation District. NASA, National Institute of Aerospace, Panasonic and other colleges and nonprofits will also share information about STEM professions.
The event will celebrate one year since Panasonic broke ground on the $4 billion EV battery plant, hoping to highlight STEM education and career opportunities and broadening access, diversity and inclusion in the field.
