Eudora will have its own version of a Christmas cookie throwdown this week.
We hope you will join us Thursday evening at Zeb’s as 10 local bakers compete in a cookie contest as part of a fundraising event for The Eudora Times.
To participate in the cookie tasting, bring cash since you will need it to vote for your favorite cookie(s) as part of a freewill donation. Those who donate will receive a free cookbook featuring all of the participating cookies.
There will be 10 tables with cookie samples for the first 100 people who attend. The event will be open from 6 to 8 p.m. with Santa available for photos and an opportunity to shop local at Zeb’s. There will also be other downtown businesses open during the holiday walk-around.
We’ll also have copies of our fall sports souvenir newspaper available for a minimum $5 donation at Zeb’s Thursday night.
Look for our table at Gene’s throughout the week and at the basketball games Friday night for other opportunities to get newspapers. You can also drop us a line at [email protected] to arrange to get copies.
Also, just a note that we’re nearing the end of the semester at KU, so much of our staff will be off for several weeks as they return home during the semester break. We’ll still have news coverage in December and January but will be working with reduced staffing.
