A Eudora college student was inducted into a prestigious honor society.

Katherine Balke has been initiated into the University of Kansas’ chapter of Phi Kappa Phi. This is the nation’s oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society.

About 25,000 students, faculty, professional staff and alumni have been initiated into Phi Kappa Phi each year. Only the top 10% of seniors and 7.5% of juniors are eligible for membership, and are invited only by nomination.

The Good Neighbor section will publish when there is content. We will publish event notices once for free before requiring the purchase of an ad.

We also will accept new job announcements, birth announcements, engagement/marriage/anniversary announcements, high school and college graduation announcements, and pet news. Pet news could include announcement of a new pet or an obituary for a pet. The cost of these various announcements will be $10 each. The fee is to support personnel who must prepare this information for publication.
