Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg will be in the area Monday to tour the site of the future Panasonic EV battery manufacturing facility and host a news conference.
Buttigieg will begin his day visiting the new terminal at the Kansas City airport before heading to De Soto, according to a press advisory.
He will join U.S. Rep. Sharice Davids, Kansas Lt. Gov. David Toland, De Soto Mayor Rick Walker, Johnson County Chair Mike Kelly, local labor leaders and Panasonic North American Energy President Allan Swan to tour the site of the future Panasonic EV battery manufacturing facility and host a news conference to discuss how electric vehicle manufacturing is creating jobs in America.
