Douglas County residents will soon be able to return expired and unneeded medication to the Sheriff’s Office as part of National Drug Take Back Day.

“The Sheriff’s Office continues to offer these events so that residents can have a safe and convenient way to dispose of unused medications. It’s important for the community to offer this option so people can clean out their cabinets and know they will be disposed of safely,” Sheriff Jay Armbrister said in a statement.
The day will provide a safe way for individuals to dispose of drugs, according to the news release. This helps avoid medication misuse and addiction.
