In honor of Flag Day, members of Boy Scout Troop 64 discussed and demonstrated in this video how to properly handle and respect the U.S. flag.
For those looking to retire their flag, Troop 64 has retirement collection boxes placed at the entrance of the school district office and next to the high school’s flag pole. The troop will empty collection boxes periodically and will ensure those flags are retired properly.
Troop Leader Glenn Jackson said it’s time to retire your flag when its colors become faded and the ends look tattered or frayed. Flying a flag in poor condition is considered disrespectful to the country and military, according to the U.S. Flag Code.
