A plan for a parking lot extension at the school district bus storage building will now meet city code.
The Planning Commission was presented with a new proposal for the plan at 1002 Elm St. during its Wednesday meeting.
The project — because of a miscommunication — was originally gravel and stopped once the district heard it was a code violation. In March, the Planning Commission did not approve the project and said to come back with an asphalt proposal to meet code.
The addition is being made to allow for more bus parking space at the facility since buses were having to use the grass for overflow parking.
The project will be financed by the district and a cost is not yet determined. Construction on the new asphalt is slated in mid-July, Superintendent Stu Moeckel said.
