As the Fourth of July nears, the city released its rules for when fireworks can be set off and shared details of its annual community display.
On Monday and Tuesday, fireworks can be set off from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. On Wednesday and Thursday, they can be set off from 10 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.
They can be discharged on residents’ own property and are not allowed on any public roadway, city property or within 100 feet of any institution.
The police department also noted bottle rocks are outlawed on all dates and times.
The department also reminded pet owners to be especially cautious of loud sounds and lights so they do not run off.
The city’s fireworks display can be viewed from the middle and high school parking lots. The show will begin around 9 p.m. Main Street Scoops and Sweets will be selling treats at the event.
