The renovations coming to Pilla Park will be discussed at Monday’s City Commission meeting.
The city applied for a Community Development Block Grant to help improve the park. Commissioners will hear cost information and potentially set a July 8 public hearing for the project.
The city will also have a work session before its regular meeting Monday to discuss capital improvement projects and city utility infrastructure. The city will discuss these projects – most of which will likely focus on electric utilities – with the Kansas Municipal Energy Agency.
A draft of the fire department’s five-year strategic plan is also scheduled for presentation. The plan includes strategies for growth planning, facilities and equipment, workforce development and community outreach.
The City Commission could approve the plan at the meeting.
The city manager will also present the City Commission’s strategic plan.
There will also be a presentation forecasting budget details for 2024.
The work session will begin at 5 p.m. followed by the regular meeting at 7 p.m. Both will be at City Hall.
