Here are the staff members working for The Eudora Times during the spring 2024 semester.
Sara Maloney is managing editor. She graduated from KU last May and has been reporting for the Times for two years. She is grateful for what the Times has taught her and the passion she has for community news. In her free time, Sara enjoys tending to her houseplants, as well as going to coffee shops and antique stores.
Maddie Beischel is the advertising director and community engagement director for the Eudora Times. Maddie was born and raised in Kansas City and is in her fourth year at KU. She has worked for the Eudora Times for a year and has enjoyed making genuine connections with residents. In her free time, Maddie enjoys traveling and experiencing new cultures.
Ryn Drummond is from Tulsa, Oklahoma, and is a sophomore at KU. Ryn is passionate about community journalism and is looking forward to covering and meeting the people of Eudora. She will help with coverage of government meetings and do feature stories. In her free time, Ryn enjoys watching movies, reading and spending time with friends.
Libby Hale is associate director of public relations and community engagement. She is a senior at KU and is set to graduate this semester with a major in journalism, focusing on digital marketing communications, advertising, and public relations, and a minor in film and media studies.
Having moved around quite a bit throughout various countries and states, Libby is grateful to have spent the last four years at KU. When she’s not working, she likes to spend her time reading and listening to music.
Alyssa Peterson is a junior at the University of Kansas majoring in strategic communications. She focuses on digital marketing communications, advertising, and public relations for The Eudora Times. She is minoring in business and design.
Annalynn Phanthadeth is a photographer who will shoot sports as well as other events in town. She is from Winfield, Kansas, and is excited to work with the Eudora Times and cover the Eudora community. She is an aspiring photojournalist. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her friends and family.
Cuyler Dunn is a sports reporter. He is a sophomore at KU and was born and raised in Lawrence. Cuyler has written for The Lawrence Times and The University Daily Kansan and has a passion for covering sports. He is excited to get to engage with the Eudora community and talk with their local coaches and athletes. When he’s not reporting, Cuyler loves music and is a member of the KU Chamber Choir and Marching Jayhawks.
Teri Finneman is the publisher of the Eudora Times and has worked in journalism for 25 years. Her latest book, Reviving Rural News, is set for release in February. She is an associate professor in the journalism school at KU.
