A student from Eudora was initiated into an honor society at Washburn University and a trivia event in town will raise money for the high school All Night Prom.
Kelsey Scarlett is now a member of the Phi Kappa Phi honor society, one of the oldest and most selective collegiate honor societies. Scarlett is among 25,000 students, faculty, staff and alumni to be a part of the society each year.
The group is invitation only and requires nomination and approval by a chapter. The top 10% of seniors and 7.5% of juniors are eligible to join. The society has more than 325 chapters in campuses across the nation, with more than 1.5 million members initiated.
The Souper Bowl of Trivia Nights will give the community an opportunity to help fund All Night Prom at the high school. There will be five rounds of trivia with soup prepared by local chefs.
The event will cost $40 per person with bottomless soup, drinks and fun. All of the proceeds will go toward the All Night Prom to make sure students have a safe and fun environment after prom.
There will be cash prizes for the winning teams. The event is from 6 to 10 p.m. Feb. 3. Click here to sign up.The Good Neighbor section will publish when there is content. We will publish event notices once for free before requiring the purchase of an ad.
