The library board adopted a $429,000 budget for the next fiscal year at Tuesday’s meeting.
The 2025 budget includes salary increases for employees, as well as reductions in programming and collections costs.
Executive Director Carol Wohlford said the library is hoping to make up for the reduction in programming and collections costs through grants.
“When this kind of thing comes up with collection development or or even programming, we write grants,” Wohlford said.
In other business, the board heard from Laura Smith, Eudora’s community navigator, about this year’s resource guide.
The guide lists most of Douglas County’s resources for those in need of health care, meal assistance and more. Smith said the new guide has a lot of updates.
“We had some organizations that really played a pretty big presence in Eudora this last year, and I wanted them there,” Smith said.
Smith also announced there will be a health services day from 9 a.m. to noon Sept. 21 at the fire department.
In other business, President Kenny Massey said the library may have had some data taken.
Massey said Lathrop and Gage, a law firm, had a hack, which could have impacted the library. Massey said the firm is making sure everything is under control, and there seems to not be any issues.
In other business, the board’s treasurer position is now bonded.
