The City Commission will meet for public hearings regarding the budget and revenue neutral rate, as well as one related to a right of way for 23rd Street, at Monday night’s meeting.
After a meeting earlier this month where the city manager’s office presented the proposed budget for 2025, the city will have a chance to vote to certify the budget. Prior to this though, the city will hold a public hearing for residents to voice concerns, support or questions about both the proposed exceeding of the revenue neutral rate and the budget.
The budget includes a flat mill levy, utility rate increases, increases to city staff pay, Parks and Rec equipment updates for the Community Center and renovations for Pilla Park.

The last public hearing is regarding the traffic study the city did on 23rd Street traffic. The vacation is for the existing right away along 23rd Street east of Church Street. This is necessary for the future expansion of Church Street in reference to the RAISE grant. After the public hearing, the city will have the opportunity to approve a ordinance to officially vacate the area.
There will also be another update from KwiKom on its fiber optic installation process.
The commission will also hear a biannual update from Ben Terwilliger about the Eudora Area Historical Society.
The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at City Hall. Residents can also watch the meeting via zoom. A link is attached at the bottom of the agenda.
