The city will further discuss utility infrastructure needs at a work session before Monday’s regularly scheduled meeting.
City staff and commissioners will discuss these needs with the Kansas Municipal Energy Agency again as they plan for growth and expanding needs for electric wattage.
During the regular meeting, there will be a public hearing for the renovations at Pilla Park – required by the application for the Community Development Block Grant. The commission discussed project scope at the last meeting, but will consider approving a proposal at the meeting Monday.
A master plan for the Parks and Rec Department will also be discussed as the city manager’s office requests authorization to enter into a contract with JEO Consulting.
According to the agenda, the city plans to exceed the revenue neutral rate for the 2025 budget, so a public hearing date will be discussed and set at the meeting. During a budget discussion, the city will also talk about investment and debt policies
The city will also vote on purchasing a new bucket truck for the Public Works Department and whether to authorize a contract with CFS Engineers to conduct a citywide water line analysis.
The work session will begin at 5 p.m. followed by the regular meeting at 7 p.m. at City Hall.
