The Cardinals girls golf team finished second at the Frontier League tournament Tuesday thanks to top-five finishes by junior Marleigh Grant and sophomore Brooklynn Akers.
Grant led the way with a third-place finish and Akers finished right behind in fourth place. Freshman Josie Vogt finished 14th, senior Brette Hayden claimed 23nd and senior Reese Pattison ended in 27th.
The Cardinals were bested by Baldwin, who claimed four of the top seven spots and the overall team title.
The next test for the team is regionals next week at the Woodland Hills Golf Course in Fort Scott.
