Conversations about the future of a shared building for the library and City Hall will be continued during Monday’s City Commission meeting.
Following discussion during the Library Board meeting earlier this month, the commission will also hear updates during mayor and city comments.
The commission will also vote on whether to authorize the city manager to enter into a contract with JEO for design and engineering services as the city continues to plan for the RAISE grant. The federal grant will help improve one mile of road from 20th to 28th Street, including a new three-lane road.
Commissioners will also consider buying a new skid unit for the fire department and purchasing materials and services for the sanitary sewer extension to put bathrooms in at Bluejacket Park.
The city will also receive a presentation from the Chamber of Commerce with updates on activities.
The agenda also includes an item to create a memorandum of understanding between the Senior Foundation of Eudora and the city.
The understanding would include an annual allocation of $2,000 to the foundation to help support the group’s mission. The agenda noted there were about 290 participants in senior programming put on by Parks and Rec from July 2023 to June 2024.
In other business the city will consider a proclamation regarding Domestic Violence Awareness Month and hear quarterly staff updates. There will also be a quarterly budget report and a new consideration for an update to the city’s capital improvement plan.
Staff will give updates on the K-10 bridge, sewer repairs, sidewalk grants and the Pilla Park grant.
The commission will also go into executive session for “preliminary discussion related to the acquisition of real property.” The agenda says this session will be to discuss the location of a potential electric substation.
The meeting will be at 7 p.m. at City Hall or is available online via Zoom.
