A local organization will host a garden show and University of Kansas students received academic accolades.
The Douglas County Extension Master Gardeners will host “The Groovy Garden Show” from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 2 at the Douglas County Fairgrounds.The event is free and open to the public. The show will feature speakers, educational booths, workshops, a garage sale, vendors and food trucks.
The University of Kansas announced more than 8,000 students who earned honor roll distinction for the fall semester. Criteria can vary depending on school, but some schools honor the top 10% of students enrolled, some establish a minimum grade-point average and others raise the minimum GPA for each year students are in school.

Daniel Campbell of Eudora was initiated into KU’s honor society of Phi Kappa Phi. Membership is by invitation only and requires nomination as well as approval by chapter. Only the top 10% of seniors and 7.5% of juniors are eligible.

We also will accept new job announcements, birth announcements, engagement/marriage/anniversary announcements, high school and college graduation announcements, and pet news. Pet news could include announcement of a new pet or an obituary for a pet. The cost of these various announcements will be $10 each. The fee is to support personnel who must prepare this information for publication.
