Approval of a property tax rebate system for low-income seniors and disabled veterans may come at Monday’s City Commission meeting.
It is expected that $20,000 will be allocated for this program, money that would have otherwise gone to the downtown and residential grant programs. After discussion about qualifications and funding at previous commission meetings, Mayor Tim Reazin said he was ready to take action on the item.
The City Commission will also hear an update from Ben Terwilliger with the Eudora Area Historical Society regarding recent updates to the museum.
Bids for this year’s pavement management program will also be reviewed with a possible vote to approve funding for these projects.
An application for the sale, possession, dispensing and consumption of alcohol at the Community Center for a prom fundraising event will also be reviewed by the commission.
The City Commission will receive a quarterly staffing update, as well as an update and overview on the 2024 budget.
The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. in City Hall. Meetings are also available with a Zoom link included in the agenda.
The commission will also hold a special meeting at 6:30 p.m. to go into executive session. The agenda says the commission will consult with an attorney regarding potential litigation. The city manager, assistant city manager, budget analyst and budget manager will also be in attendance.
