As the Chiefs head to another Super Bowl, local businesses are celebrating by adding new deals and packages to get into the game day spirit.
About 203 million adults plan to watch the Super Bowl this year, according to the National Retail Federation. Those watching expect to spend about $92 on average, with total U.S. spending reaching a record $18.6 billion.
Only 43% of viewers feel the game is most important. Another 19% feel the halftime show is most important and 17% are focused on commercials. Nearly all respondents, however, are ready for Super Bowl snacks.
Frenzel’s Barbecue and Catering
Bill Frenzel of Frenzel’s Barbecue and Catering is preparing for extra orders ahead of Super Bowl weekend. He’s planning to have 25 pounds of brisket, 25 pounds of pork and about 20 slabs of ribs available this year.
People can order ribs, brisket, pulled pork, chicken wings and sides like beans and potato salad. They’re also open to whatever else people may want.
He needs to collect orders as soon as possible to make sure everything is ready on time, so Frenzel asked that people order by Wednesday or Thursday. Ordering can be done directly to his phone number at 913-915-5086.
Throughout football season, Frenzel has to keep in mind people may ask for orders on shorter notice, so he tends to prepare more, especially during the lead up to the Super Bowl.
Frenzel has been cooking up barbecue for communities for over 30 years. He has served crowds up to 100, so he’s prepared for whatever people need, he said.
