The public will have a chance to share comments to the commission about the establishment of a rural housing incentive district in the new Shadow Ridge North subdivision at Monday’s City Commission meeting.
Conversations about the proposed district have been ongoing for over a year, and Monday night will be the one of the public hearings to move forward with establishing the district.
After the public comment, the staff is recommending that the commission vote to continue the public hearing to conclude on May 12. Extending it to May will allow for the ordiancce’s protest period to meet regulations. The School Board and County Commission have the opportunity to share any “adverse effects” of the district, which would halt it all together.
During the May meeting, the commission could also consider establishing the special districts related to the project, as well as a development agreement.
The commission will also see a final plat of the Paschal’s Landing and 10 Union lofts. Staffing is recommending approval of these plans.
Another item on the agenda is recommending the addition of a new project to the annual pavement management project. The extension of this year’s project is due to the costs approved at a prior meeting being lower than expected.
Lastly, the commission will consider approving a lease for new equipment for the Rec Center. This $15,000 was included in the 2025 budget plans.
