Senior Ryan Bretthauer was selected for the prestigious Kansas Shrine Duals, which brings together the top high school senior wrestlers from across the state.
Bretthauer’s inclusion in this event comes after back-to-back state meet appearances. The event is organized by the Shrine Bowl of Kansas and the Kansas Wrestling Coaches Association.
The 2nd annual Shrine Duals will take place on March 29 at Fugate Gymnasium on the campus of Newman University in Wichita. The event raises money for Shriners Children’s, a network of nonprofit children’s hospitals. In 2024, the inaugural Duals raised $25,000.
All roster selections are made by the coaches association based on applications from senior wrestlers, with invitations extended to those chosen. Bretthauer’s participation underscores her accomplishments in the sport over the past few years.
