Fuse/Eudorable collaboration
Fuse Candle Bar owner Emily Young decided to lease Eudorable Home from owner Courtney Gebauer and run the operations of both shops. Young is excited to add some local new vendors to the Eudorable space to make it more of a marketplace atmosphere.
One of the new local vendors, a local T-shirt maker, has already started selling products in Eudorable, with more on the way, Young said. A charcuterie board maker is expected to join the vendor list within the next week, she said.
“It’ll be a good place, especially with fall and Christmas coming up, to shop locally. We’ll have some cool holiday stuff and get some new inventory every couple of weeks,” Young said.
Half of the space will still have the original Eudorable products, and the name of the shop will remain the same. Young will run both stores, and Eudorable and Fuse will be open the same hours. Young is still working out what hours will work best for the new setup, but currently Fuse is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday through Saturday.
800 Main Salon expands
800 Main Salon will add new services as early as fall, owner Olivia Pacheco said. Four pedicure chairs, nail techs to do acrylic manicures and other nail services, and new facial and spa services are some of the additions, Pacheco said.
The salon will have a new acne esthetician and hopefully full-body waxing, she said. Construction on the next door space has already begun.
With successful business thus far, Pacheco is excited to be a one-stop-shop for Eudora residents, she said. The salon opened in September 2022.
The salon will host another open house from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. during Thursday’s Main Street Market. It will have cocktails, a how-to on bouquet making and a company doing permanent jewelry.
Twill Trade opens new store
Twill Trade has expanded again after opening its third store in Atchison, owner Elizabeth Knispel said. Although the expansion moved faster than they previously planned, Knispel said it felt like a good choice with freshman students incoming and Benedictine College down the road. There is a Twill Trade in Baldwin City, as well.
“I think one of the biggest things that we’ve realized since we’ve been in business is that we have to keep growing and changing,” Knispel said. “By expanding it’s kind of allowing us to speed up that process a little bit.”
The shop is similar to the Eudora store, but is the biggest location for the company yet. All of the stores are located in historic buildings, which is part of the company’s brand, Knispel said. The products the shops get in are divided into three so each store gets the same merchandise, but Knispel said if something is not doing well at one store she will take it to another.
The shop is at 733 Commercial St. and is open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
