The City Commission will discuss a preliminary plat application for new homes near the high school at Monday’s meeting.
After a recommendation to approve from the Planning Commission in early November, the commission will vote on whether to approve a rezoning request for the tract of land at N. 1200 Road. The request is to rezone the area from agricultural Douglas County to residential single family after it was annexed into the city in September.
The land will be used to create a continuation of Shadow Ride, Dustin Baker with Alcove Development said at the Planning Commission meeting. The preliminary plat plans show 118 lots in the section requesting rezoning.
Alcove Development is requesting the rezoning of the southern 40 acres to build and plans to request the rezoning of the remaining acreage in the future. There is a total of 97 acres with other sections planned for multifamily and duplex housing.
The city was required to hold a public hearing for the rezoning of land at the Planning Commission meeting, but no residents spoke.
The meeting will start at 7 p.m. at City Hall.
